Institute of Finance

Since founded in 2016, the Institute of Finance aims to provide highly qualified educational services in finance, and cultivate talented financial researcher with international insight. The institute devote and contribute to a cross-over research of traditional economic and financial studies, and present domestic leading, world first-class academic achievements both in theoretical and practical aspects.

The Institute of Finance has five research directions: international finance, monetary banking, investment and capital market, corporate finance and financial risk management. Among the five teaching staff in the institute of finance, there are four full-time teaching staff including two professors, one associate professor and one assistant professor, together with a chair professor enlisted in Changjiang Scholars Program.

The Institute of Finance has a superior teaching and research background. Currently the institute is responsible for a National Resource Sharing Course and a Nankai University high quality course. Since the institute was founded, the institute has undertaken two national social science foundation programs, two national key projects and two national general projects, one major and four general projects from the humanities and social science key research base of Ministry of Education, four project for national natural science foundation of China, as well as over 30 projects commissioned by Tianjin municipality and enterprises. At the same time, in the Journal of Banking and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Economic Research Journal, Management World (Monthly), Journal of Financial Research and other domestic and international authoritative journals, the institute has published 120 articles, together with nine monographs and four textbooks.

The Institute has signed a cooperation agreement with the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Center (CMCRC) of Australia and send four graduate students to CMCRC or overseas partner universities to study and research each year. The Institute of Finance and CMCRC will provide generous scholarships for these students.
