Professor Bingzhan Shi Published Papers in Economic Research Journal

2019-12-03

(Correspondent: Zhao Hong) Recently, the paper “Attention Allocation, Internet Search, and International Trade”, which was co-authored by Professor Bingzhan Shi and PhD candidate Xiangyi Jin, was published in the 11th issue of Economic Research Journal, a top Chinese journal in economics.

The paper argues that the limited attention of economic subjects is a scarce resource. Attention affects economic behavior by reducing the source entropy and reducing uncertainty; under open conditions, the allocation of attention between countries will affect the size of a country's trade and its spatial distribution. Their conclusion suggests that open development includes not only the opening of the tangible market (commodity market, service market, factor market, etc.), but also the openness of attention of economic agents, which means that the international perspective of economic agents also affects the opening of a country.

Economic Research Journal was founded in 1955. It is a national comprehensive economic theory journal. It is sponsored by the Economic Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
