Associate Professor Qilin Mao was Supported by the 17th Young Teachers Fund of Higher Education Institutions of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation

(Correspondent: Zhao Hong) Recently, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office) of the Ministry of Education officially announced the list of projects funded by the 17th College Young Teachers Fund, which has funded 113 research projects (including 20 projects of the Western University Young Teachers Fund). There are 3 items in economics. Associate Professor Qilin Mao’s Research on the Impact of Human Capital on Chinese Enterprise Innovation and the Transformation and Upgrading of Foreign Trade received funding support.

The Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation was established in 1986 by Mr. Fenry Fok Ying Tung, a former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a well-known Hong Kong businessman, who invested 100 million Hong Kong dollars in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. The Fok Ying Tung Education Fund aims to encourage young teachers in Chinese colleges and universities to stand out and young students studying abroad to return to domestic universities to teach, and to provide financial assistance and rewards to young teachers who are engaged in scientific research and have made outstanding achievements in teaching and scientific research. More than 30 years after the establishment of Fok Ying Tung Education Fund, a large number of outstanding young talents have stood out, and a large number of outstanding young teachers who have received funding and awards from the Foundation, many of whom have become outstanding leaders in various research fields.

Qilin Mao, one of the 100 young discipline leaders of Nankai University, Tianjin young talents, associate professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of International Economics, School of Economics, Nankai University. In recent years, he has published 5 papers in SSCI journals such as The World Economy, China Economic Review, etc. as the first author/corresponding author. He has 27 papers published (including accepted) in the four top domestic economic journals. His representative monograph Trade Liberalization, Heterogeneity and Enterprise Dynamics was published by the Commercial Press (2019).

Pro. Qilin Mao is selected for Tianjin Youth Top Talent Support Program (2017), Nankai University's Top 100 Young Discipline Leaders Training Program (2018), and he won the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of Chinese Economics (2016), An Tse-kai International Trade Research Award (2 times), Tianjin Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, the 4th Yinxing Hong Economics Award, Tianjin Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, Ministry of Education Doctoral New Scholar Award and other academic awards. Pro. Qinlin Mao also has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation General Project (research) and the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project (closed) 1 each. His five academic papers have been selected as the top ten Chinese papers in the World Economic Yearbook. One academic paper has been selected as the Chinese Economic Yearbook 2015-2016, more than 10 papers have been selected by Xinhua Digest and Chinese Social Science Digest and reprinted in Information Center for Social Science of Renmin University Of China.
