The "Global Economy under the Impact of COVID-19 and Challenges to China" Network Meeting Was Successfully Held

(Correspondent: Zhao Hong) The “Global Economy under the Impact of COVID-19 and Challenges to China” organized by the School of Economics of Nankai University, the Research Center of Multinational Corporations, the International Institute of Economics, and the Department of International Economics and Trade was successfully held, on the afternoon of March 25, 2020. Professors Jiadong Tong, Bin Sheng, Dianchun Jiang, Shunqi Ge, Bin Yan, Chen Liu, Jinping Dai, and Guoming Xian of the School of Economics of Nankai University attended the meeting and discussed the impacts of COVID-19’s spread and policy recommendations for lessening the effects from the perspective of macroeconomics, trade, investment, value chain, supply chain, digital economy, and international financial markets. The online conference attracted nearly 600 participants and received wide acclaim.
Professor Guoming Xian, the deputy director of the Academic Committee of Nankai University and director of the Multinational Corporation Research Center, summarized the meeting. He pointed out that the wide range of issues involved in this meeting and the depth of analysis have brought useful inspiration to the teachers and students at the meeting. He hopes that experts will continue to pay attention to the impact of the epidemic development on all aspects of the global economy and look forward to further discuss.
