Jiang Xiaojuan is currently Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University. In 1989 she received her Ph.D. in Economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She was a visiting scholar at Victoria University of Wellington. From 1989 to 2004, she worked in the Research Bureau, the Institute of Industrial Economics and Institute of Finance and trade Economics of CASS. She used to be the director of the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS and the secretary of the Communist Party Committee and director of the Institute of Finance and trade Economics. From 2004 to 2018, she worked in the State Council and served as Vice Chairperson of the Research Office and deputy secretary-general of the State Council, being responsible for education, science and technology, culture, health, sports, women and children, and ethnic and religious affairs.
Since March 2018, she has served as member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Vice Chairperson of the Committee of Social Construction of the National People’s Congress.
She is currently the Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University and the president of Chinese Public Administration Society (CPAS). She is also a professor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
