(Correspondent: Jin Wei) Recently, the Business Development Research Achievement Award (2020-2021) organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China were announced, and Professor Mao Qilin of our school won three awards.

Among them, Professor Mao’s book Trade Liberalization, Heterogeneity, and Firm Dynamics (The Commercial Press, 2020) won the Business Development Research Achievement Award in the Book Category Excellence Award, which also won the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award in Chinese Economics in 2016.

Professor Mao’s paper Does Trade Policy Uncertainty Affect Chinese Manufacturing Firms’ Imports? “, published in the Second Issue of Economic Research Journal in 2020, won the Business Development Research Achievement Award in the Paper Category Excellence Award, which was selected as the top 10 best Chinese paper in international trade in the The Yearbook of World Economy  of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The paper How Does FDI Inflow Liberalization Affect Chinese Manufacturing Productivity, jointly finished by Professor Mao and assistant researcher Senhui Fang in the first issue of World Economy in 2020, won the third prize in the Business Development Research Achievement Award in the dissertation category Excellence Award, and was selected as the top 10 best Chinese paper in international investment science of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences “The Yearbook of World Economy” in 2020.

The Business Development Research Achievement Award is a nationwide social science award established by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, which aims to strengthen business strategy and policy research, prosper business theory, encourage units and individuals to engage in business theory, policy research and practical work across the country to improve the quality and level of research, accelerate the cultivation of business research talents, and mainly reward forward-looking and innovative works, papers and research reports in the field of business, as well as research results that have an important impact on government decision-making and practical work, covering many fields such as the world economy, international trade, circulation economy and commercial law; it is the most authoritative ministerial government award in the field of commerce in China.
