Associate Professor Xie Danxia is currently a doctoral supervisor of Institute of Economics, Tsinghua University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in economics at University of Chicago, his master degree in public policy at Harvard University and his master degrees in computer science at Duke University and Peking University. He is engaged in theoretical and policy research in the fields of digital economy, law economics, macroeconomics, microeconomics and international economics. His research interests in the field of digital economy include: data economy and macroeconomic growth, platform economy and anti-monopoly, digital technology and economic development, financial technology, AI economy and “chips economy”. He has had several papers published in top international and domestic journals of economics and management, such as American Economic Review, Management Science and Economic Research Journal. He has originally proposed the “regulatory growth theory” and the “endogenous growth theory for data innovation”, which have great influence in the research field of digital economy. He has worked in Peterson Institute for International Economics, the worldwide famous think tank. During his time at Peking University, he participated in the research and development work of China’s first CPU. Now he heads the general project “The Influence of Digital Platform on Social Welfare and Financial Stability” and participates in the major project “The Game Theory Foundation of Digital Economy” of Natural Science Foundation of China.
