The 11th International Investment Forum of China Society of World Economics Held Successfully

The 11th International Investment Forum of China Society of World Economics, sponsored by China Society of World Economics and Center for Transnationals' Studies of Nankai University and hosted by the School of Economics and Management of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, was held at Lanzhou Jiaotong University on August 20. The theme of this forum is International Investment Opportunities and Challenges under the Changing World Economy. Around 500 teachers and students from more than 30 universities and research institutions participated the forum online and offline.
The opening ceremony of the forum was chaired by Professor Zhu Tingjun, Vice president of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. Professor Li Yinzhen, president of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, president of China Society of World Economics, Professor Zhang Yuyan, member of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics, and Professor Xian Guoming, director of Center for Transnationals' Studies of Nankai University, delivered opening speeches at the forum.
In the keynote speech session of the forum, Professor Zhao Zhongxiu, Vice President of China Society of World Economics and President of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Professor Sheng Bin, Vice President of China Society of World Economics and dean of School of Economics, Nankai University, Professor Hong Junjie, Vice President of China Society of Industrial Economics and Vice President of University of International Business and Economics, and Wang Huzhong, deputy director of Research Office of Gansu Province Government. Professor Luo Changyuan, Vice President of China Society of World Economics, President of Shanghai Society of World Economic, deputy director of Liberal Arts Research Department of Fudan University, Researcher Gao Lingyun, director of International Investment Research Office, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Huang Meibo, dean of International Development Cooperation Institute, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. Professor Yan Bing, deputy secretary-general of China Society of World Economics and director of the Institute of International Economics of Nankai University, made excellent speeches on some issues, such as the security of industrial chain and supply chain, cross-border data flow and digital trade, international trade development in the context of digital economy, development opportunities and investment opportunities in Gansu, debt problems in developing countries, employment effects of foreign mergers and acquisitions, market integration, enterprise investment in different places, and the layout of multinational corporations' reinvestment in China.
The forum also set up eight parallel forums: Foreign Investment and New Development Pattern, Uncertainty and Risk Prevention and Control, Digital Finance and Digital Trade, Value Chain and Multilateral Trade, Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions and Foreign Investment, Opening to the outside World and High-quality Development, and Belt and Road Initiative and Regional Development. Experts and scholars from dozens of universities and research institutions, including Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University, Lanzhou University, South China University of Technology, Zhejiang University, Central University of Finance and Economics, University of International Business and Economics, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, and so on, discussed the theme of the forum in an all-round way.
