International Symposium on Economic Behavior and Forecasting Held Successfully by Nankai’s Economic Behavior and Policy Simulation Laboratory

(Correspondent: Zhong Yiming) On October 15th-16th, the International Symposium on Economic Behavior and Forecasting entitled “Global Change: Economic behavior and Forecasting” co-sponsored by the Laboratory of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education (pilot), Nankai’s Economic Behavior and Policy Simulation Laboratory, and the School of Economics of Nankai University, was held successfully.

Academician Chen Jun, Vice President of Nankai University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Jiang Dianchun.

Professor Chen Jun pointed out in his speech that the international symposium is a grand event in the field of experimental and behavioral economics, as well as an important measure to promote the construction of “new liberal arts” and the development of interdisciplinary integration.

Nankai’s Economic Behavior and Policy Simulation Laboratory is one of the nine pilot units of the first batch of Philosophy and Social Science laboratories approved by the Ministry of Education in 2021, and it is also the only economic and management laboratory among them. Affiliated to advantage disciplines including economics, statistics and business management, the laboratory gathered a batch of scholars with outstanding scientific research innovation ability. Since its establishment, the laboratory has made gratifying progress in the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, the publication of high-level domestic and foreign journal papers, the development of characteristic databases, and the promotion of international exchanges and cooperation.

This international seminar has been included in the “2022 International Industry-University-Research Cooperation Conference” of the Ministry of Education. Over 20 famous scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries and regions delivered keynote speeches. A total of 10 thematic forums were set up for in-depth exchanges and discussions on individual decision-making, behavioral game and market design, digital economy and its governance, climate, environment and green development, innovative economy and value chain restructuring, pandemic impact and public governance.
