(Correspondent: Wang Tianjian) From October 2^nd to October 31^st, 2022, Professor Xue Jun of our school paid a visit to Toyo University in Japan on invitation, as a short-term professor, which achieved great success.

Toyo University has signed with our school a memorandum of cooperation and exchange, which laid a solid foundation for this visit. During the visit, Professor Xue Jun introduced the history and development of Nankai University’s discipline of economics, as well as the results and progress that the School of Economics of Nankai University has achieved in recent years in terms of teaching, research, and international cooperation and exchange. Delegates of Toyo University introduced its current situation of discipline development and international exchange in response, and extended positive expectations on further building all-round cooperation with our school, on behalf of both Toyo University Faculty of Economics and themselves.

During the visit, professor Xue Jun met Professor Hao Renping (Dean of Toyo University Faculty of Economics), Associate Professor Sumita Kazuto, Professor Goto Takehide (former Dean of Toyo University Institute of Asian Culture), Guest Research Fellow Ling Sze Nancy Leung, Department Head Uegami and Deputy Department Head Soma, and discussed further carrying out international academic exchange and cooperation between the two schools.

During the visit, Professor Xue Jun delivered 3 lessons and 2 public lectures around the topics of “comparative analysis on the overseas investment of China and Japan” and “the third-party market cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative”, and gave a report titled “The Outward Foreign Direct Investment of Chinese Private Enterprises from the Perspective of the Belt and Road Initiative” on the international symposium co-organized by Toyo University Faculty of Economics and Institute of Asian Culture, which received positive feedback.

Besides, upon Professor Xue Jun’s visit, Toyo University sent our school 12 boxes of books including statistical yearbooks, compilations of industrial policy and other related books.
