(Correspondent: Wang Tianjian) Recently, Our school has received the certificate and letter of appreciation notifying that 7 research reports of the Center for Transnationals’ Studies of Nankai University have been accepted by the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce. It is mentioned in the letter that the expert team led by Professor Ge Shunqi, Professor Yan Bing, Professor Li Lei, Professor Huang Jiuli and Professor Zhang Feng has given full play to the role of think-tank, greatly assisted the department in judging the situation of foreign investment cooperation and researching on hot and difficult issues, and formed a total of 7 reports with high quality and great foresight, which provide significant reference for the related judgement and research. The department extended sincere appreciation and respect for the effort and support of our school.

In March 2022, the Center for Transnationals’ Studies of Nankai University received letter from the Ministry of Commerce indicating that the complicated change of the external situation had formed severe challenges to the high-quality development of foreign investment cooperation, and the center was thus asked to propose countermeasure suggestions for breakthroughs in the hot and difficult issues of foreign investment cooperation. The center’s research team carried out in-depth discussion and research, and submitted 7 reports to the Ministry of Commerce in October, 2022.

The Center for Transnationals’ Studies of Nankai University has long given priority to serving the major strategic decisions of the country, and devoted in constructing an innovative think-tank with multiple functions such as academic research, consulting service, talent cultivation and international exchange. The successful cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce this time will bring in new chances and motivation for the progress of the center, and it helps to manifest our school’s characteristics and advantages in the construction of think-tanks.
